Rodeo Drive is a medium gain, simple, and straightforward workhorse that is inspired by the legendary Marshall Bluesbreaker.
The Rodeo Drive inherits the spirit of the classic stompbox and offers some significant improvements such as wider gain range, Baxandall (tone stack) EQ, and it now goes to 11!
With gain knob set before 12 o’clock, the Rodeo Drive sounds just like the classic BB but with tighter bass and a bit more beefy feel. When you turn the gain knob above 12 o’clock it’ll start to get saturated like 2 overdrives stacked together and produce some punchy crunch tone. The Baxandall EQ stacks the high and low in a way that both full-bodied drive with tight bass and edgy, low-cut crunch tone are both possible. You can turn the tone knob pass 2 o’clock to get more bite out of your chords and the single notes will always retain the harmonics and smooth top end.
The Rodeo Drive is also very sensitive to input level, meaning rolling off the guitar volume will clean up the sound just like a tube amp. By cranking the gain knob and lowering the guitar volume you can get soft-clipping texture for your rhythm tone. Turning the guitar volume back up, the Rodeo Drive will get an extra layer of clipping and produce ballsy lead tone and ready to rock!
All 6 Degrees FX pedals are built in true point to point construction using only the top-notch audio parts such as:
